Scientific paper

The paper describes the tests of a solar spectrograph with a diffraction grating and the modified Fabry-Perot etalon. A small spectrograph can simultaneously measure the 7-10 A portion of the spectrum with a resolving power of 1,000,000 and the linear dispersion of 3-4 mm/A. The high resolving power is achieved by a multiple phase-coherent reflection of the grating in the etalon. The brightness of the spectrum is increased by free entrance of beams from the grating into the space between the plates of the etalon, and it is nearly equal to the brightness of a common diffraction spectrograph of the same telescope.
