A possible small meteor outburst was observed by the author during the night of June 15-16, 1996. In 1.9 hours effective observing time between 22h40m and 00h50m UT (limiting magnitude +6.1), 38 meteors were observed: 25 of these were sporadics, but in addition 13 meteors on the edge of medium to fast velocity (comparable to the Lyrids, i.e., around 50 km/s) dispersed from a radiant at alpha=18h40m, delta=+55 degrees (1950.0). Peak rates occurred around 23h35m UT with peak ZHR in the order of about 20. The slopes of the activity profile have a B-value of about 50. The population index of these xi-Draconids was established at about 2.7.
