A list of 63 solar-type stars is presented as a partial guide to potentially fruitful objects at which to direct searches for extraterrestrial intelligence. The stars were chosen to have masses between 0.75-1.5 solar mass and to be in the main sequence, therefore having an age of at least 3 Gyr to have allowed time for evolution. A solar-type composition was required, along with an acceptable proximity to the solar system. Finally, no multiple star systems were considered except visual binaries, whose separation distance usually exceeds that of the radius of the solar system.
