A computer-controlled servo-stabilized Fabry-Perot interferometer is described which is suitable for use at the coude foci of large telescopes. The interferometer can work at a range of resolving powers up to 200,000 on either emission-line or absorption-line spectra. The interferometer optics, servo-electronics, and computer control are described in some detail, along with stability and performance tests carried out in the field.
