Solar Microwave Bursts: Solar Corona

Scientific paper

A microwave type III burst pair characterized by two branches with frequency drift rate of -0.22 GHz/s and +0.23 GHz/s respectively, and separatrix frequency between 1240 MHz and 1340 MHz, superimposed on the microwave burst of January 5, 1994, was found for the first time. It is deduced that the height of the electron acceleration region of this event is at 3.7×104km above the photosphere and the height range of the electron acceleration region, as well as the forming region of type III burst is about 1000 km, and the electron beams' speeds are 0.102c and 0.106c, respectively.
