Earth Atmosphere: Gravity Waves

Scientific paper

A mathematical model is described for calculating the small-scale turbulence characteristics when the turbulence is generated due to convective and dynamical instability of internal gravity waves (IGW). The model makes it possible to calculate the turbulizing effect of both the saturated and non-saturated IGW, and also to calculate a set of turbulence characteristics including the vertical coefficients of turbulent viscosity and heat conductivity.
