The relative abundances of He, C, N, O, Ne, Mg, Si, S, and Ar are presented for, respectively, 185, 65, 212, 221, 180, 13, 41, 197, and 205 Galactic planetary nebulae. The observed stages of ionization were taken into account using the relations between the relative abundances of different ions derived from a grid of photoionization models for the nebular emission. The chemical compositions of all the planetary nebulae were determined using the same method and the same atomic data, so that the results have a high degree of uniformity; this is the first time this has been done for such a large sample of Galactic planetary nebulae (221 objects).
