The infrared spectroscopic measurements between 2.1 and 2.5 microns of the NGC 3227, NGC 4151 and NGC 2782, are presented. In the study of active galaxies an alternative approach to answer the question concerning the source of the ionizing continuum is to search for observational evidence of massive star formation. The CO features of the spectra are analyzed. No evidence in the observations is found for a radial increase in the depth of the CO absorption towards the center of the NGC 4151 or NGC 2782. The data suggest the presence of a weak radial gradient in the strength of the CO feature in NGC 3227.
