Using a CCD detector in the Kitt Peak coude spectrograph, a search was made for secondary lines in the visual spectral region of single-lined binaries. The lines were found in one-quarter of the 23 B2-B5 dwarfs and 6 percent of the 32 F3-G2 dwarfs. In the cases of failures, there are no contradictions between the earliest possible secondary spectral types and the latest types allowed by the orbital mass functions.
