We report the analysis of 1 hour's worth of RXTE data in which it was
possible to detect individual pulses from the Crab pulsar. These data
demonstrate that the Crab pulsar X-ray pulses are steady at the level of
7%, and we suggest that the emitting region is likely to come from a
region where the magnetic field is ``stiff.''
