Prediction of solar active region emergence is an important goal for helioseismology. As a first step towards developing prediction methods, we are carrying out a search for helioseismic pre-emergence signatures. Using GONG data, we have applied helioseismic holography to about 150 pre-emergence active regions and a control sample of 450 quiet-Sun regions. We will show preliminary results of this study.
