Two liquid-mirror telescopes with 1.2 and 1 m diameters are used to
search for optical phenomena in the sky with timescales less than 2 min.
A total of 130 hr of usable data was obtained, but no events were
observed. It is concluded that optical flashes and flares are rare
events.
