A complete sample of Cepheids taken from the General Catalog of Variable Stars and more recent literature is examined to find the frequency of multi-mode excitation among this class of stars. The constraints are chosen to include most of the known beat Cepheids; the sample includes those stars brighter than B = 12.5 mag at minimum and with periods shorter than five days, with the additional constraint that they must be north of -25 degrees declination (1900.0). Forty-two stars of this sample have sufficient Johnson V data to make a reasonable autocorrelation search for secondary periodicities. Of these, there are no new cases of multi-mode behavior.
