The Westerbork Synthesis Telescope and the Very Large Array have been used to search for HI emission and absorption in fourteen radio galaxies. Absorption lines were detected in NGC 1052, 3C293. and NGC 315. with optical depths ranging from 0.01 to 0.5. the detection rate is consistent with the presence of thin HI disks of galactic dimensions in all radio galaxies.
