Previous searches for far-infrared line emission from high-redshift objects have concentrated on C^+^ at 158-μm which, for the furthest known (z>4) systems, falls in the atmospheric window between 300 and 380GHz. Here, we describe a search for the ^3^P_1_->^3^P_0_ ground state fine-structure N^+^ line at 205-μm, which is shifted into the same window for 2.85
