Molecules containing refractory elements, such as silicon, iron, magnesium and titanium, are extremely rare in the interstellar medium, owing to the condensation of these elements into dust grains. Only a few of these species have so far been detected in molecular clouds associated with outflows, where they are believed to be formed by sputtering of refractory material from the grains through shocks. We propose to search for three silicon and titanium bearing molecules, HNSi, H2SiO, and TiO2, towards the galactic center source Sagittarius B2 (M), where several other molecules containig refractory elements have been detected. These observations will improve the knowledge of dust grain chemistry and its interaction with the interstellar gas.
