The authors observed the radio continuum emission in the direction of the distant cluster of galaxies Cl 0016+16 at λλ6.3 and 2.8 cm. Since at the shorter wavelength the temperature diminution of the microwave background towards this cluster does not exceed the decrement measured with the lower angular resolution, the authors conclude that the hot gas must be rather widely distributed.
