We report on the status of a search for very metal-poor stars in the Galactic bulge. Recent theoretical simulations have shown that the oldest stars in the Galaxy may be clustered at the center of the Galaxy and that very metal-poor stars may be found homogeneously throughout the Galactic bulge and halo. Hence, the Galactic bulge may be an interesting new place to search for the most metal-poor stars. Building on techniques developed in the HK Survey, we use slitless spectroscopy to identify candidate metal-poor giants in the bulge. We plan to follow up these targets with higher-resolution spectroscopy at the Magellan telescopes.
