Emission lines of He-like S XV in the X-ray spectra of solar flares near 5 Angstroms have been observed by the Bragg Crystal Spectrometer (BCS) on the Japanese satellite mission Yohkoh. A search is made for impulsive, compact flares which may show a density dependence above a critical value. For suitable flares no such effects were evident and these findings were supported by density determinations from Soft X-ray Telescope (SXT) images. It is concluded that very high electron density (Ne > 10^12 cm^-3) regions are not present in these flares.
