We will use the zoom modes of the new ATCA broadband correlator (CABB) to carry out a simultaneous targeted search for atomic (HI) and molecular (OH) absorption lines in a sample of nearby (z<0.08) compact radio galaxies selected from the recently-completed Australia Telescope 20 GHz (AT20G) survey. These observations will provide new information on the distribution and kinematics of atomic and molecular gas in the innermost regions of very young radio galaxies, and will also assist in planning for the ASKAP-FLASH survey, a blind all-sky HI absorption-line search which has been selected as one of the initial ASKAP Survey Science Programs.
