Abundance, Gold, Solar Spectra, Spectrum Analysis, Opacity, Oscillator Strengths, Photosphere, Ultraviolet Spectra

The solar abundance of gold is deduced from the only line attributed to
Au I in the solar spectrum, λ = 3122.796 Å. Using the
spectral synthesis method together with a recent and accurate value of
the oscillator strength of this line, the author derives AAu
= 0.95 (in the usual scale where log AH = 12.00).
