To detect unambiguously gas in globular-cluster centers a search has been made for emission in the 5007-A line of forbidden O III. To reach sufficient spatial resolution images were obtained at the f/15 Cassegrain focus of a 106-cm reflector. A photometric study using an electronic camera has been performed for the X-ray globular cluster M15. Outside of the well-known K 648, no forbidden O III emission has been detected, so that the discovery by Peterson (1976) of a second planetary nebula in the core of M15 cannot be confirmed. Upper limits are given for the forbidden O III emission.
