The PB survey and a part of the PHL survey, near the South Galactic Pole, are used to obtain the relationship between the cumulative count of UV-rich, starlike objects of classes I and II and their apparent magnitudes, averaged for a 36 square degree area. The corresponding relationship for quasars which appear like UV-rich objects of classes I and II, are obtained from the different models of the statistical evolution of quasars derived by Schmidt and Green. If the former and the latter relationships are combined, the percentages of the quasars and stars as a function of the apparent magnitude can be estimated.
