The authors present the results of a search for 21-cm line absorption due to a diffuse neutral hydrogen component associated with filaments of galaxies. Upper limits are given for the 21-cm optical depth at various locations within filaments of the Coma-A1367 and Pisces-Perseus superclusters, the best limit being τ < 2.7×10-4. This limit implies a ratio between MH I, the mass in diffuse H I, and Mgal, the luminous mass in galaxies, MH I/Mgal < 0.005Ts, where Ts is the spin temperature. This result is rather insensitive to the details of the assumed H I structure of the filament.
