Careful modeling and subtraction of galaxies in the field of Abell 1689, a richness 4 cluster, indicate that little if any diffuse light exists on a spatial scale equal to that of the cluster. A cluster mass-to-light ratio of between 350 and 550 solar mass/solar luminosity ratios is derived. A lower limit to the mass-to-light ratio of the cluster dark matter is about 2000 solar mass/solar luminosity ratios.
