Scientific paper

This paper reports the result of a search for Beta Cephei stars in the
cluster NGC 4755. Three were found. New evidence about the evolutionary
stage of Beta Cephei stars is put forward, which supports the hypothesis
that they are going through the core-hydrogen burning phase.
