It is noted that a Schwarzschild black hole is a unique 'gravitational mirror' that reflects part of the radiation from a distant source. The reflected radiation (the 'echo') is shown to be focused along a line joining the source and the black hole. The dependence of 'echo' intensity on detector position is obtained, taking into account the finite source size. The possibility is considered of observing and investigating black holes on the basis of the gravitational-reflector effect.
