With regard to describing the Friedmann models of a matter universe, a scaled, regularizing, parameter called the 'chrone' is introduced, which depends only weakly on q(0). The dimensionless chrone elapses at the same rate as the cosmic time expressed in units of the present expansion age. Positive, negative, and vanishing space curvatures are considered, and attention is given to evolution of sources which leads, for a 'chronic' exponential, to a closed generalization of Mattig's (1958) formula relating redshifts with luminosity, distance, and space volume.
