In a programme of ground-based spectrographic observations of
ultraviolet objects from the catalogues of Carnochan and Wilson, 13
new hot subluminous stars have been detected. Their main spectral
features are described and their visual magnitudes are estimated from
the magnitude at 2740 Å.
