A digital method to determine the radial velocity of stars is described. It has been used on plates photographed with a Schmidt telescope equipped with a normal field objective prism, and measured with the CDCA microdensitometer PDS l0l0A connected with PDP 11/40 computer. A preliminary study was made on the southern group Lac OB 1 association whose radial velocity histogram is presented.
