The 100 m telescope in Effelsberg equipped with a cooled mixer receiver was used to check the claimed detection of a velocity gradient in the CS 1-0 transition, in a so-called proto-planetary disk around L1551 IRS 5. The authors find no significant velocity gradient. The new data disagree with the model of a rotating disk of interstellar dimensions, which might have played a role in confining the bipolar flow from L1551 IRS 5.
