The X-ray emitting intracluster gas in the galaxy cluster Abell 3186 is
elongated in the SE - NW direction, while the galaxy isoplets are
basically N - S. Emission is peaked on the cD galaxy, but substantial
substructure exists. A small cooling flow (4 M˙sun/yr) is
found, although the cD galaxy has no emission lines.
