Orbit Determination: Artificial Satellites, Orbit Determination: Numerical Methods

A robust algorithm of the initial orbit determination based on angular observation including some outliers is presented. The algorithm can be used to provide reliable initial orbits and to pick out outliers in data preprocessing as well. The breakdown point of this robust algorithm lies between 16% and 25%. Simulations show that the outliers larger than 6σ may be rejected.
