It is demonstrated in this paper that the quantum-mechanical Schroedinger equation can be reformulated into a radiative transfer equation for the probability density of the wave function. The physical relevance of the formalism is established by applying it to hydrogen. In addition, it is demonstrated that the uncertainty relation for momentum and position can be derived from the Stokes equation. An extension of the derived one-particle radiative transfer equation to an N-particle equation is also discussed.
