On the basis of Voyager I and II measurements, physical parameter computations are conducted for the upper atmosphere of Jupiter in order to ascertain temperature, pressure, density, speed of sound, density scale, number density, viscosity, mean pressure scale, mean particle velocity, mean collisional frequency, columnar mass, and mean free path. A reference model is proposed for the Jovian atmosphere, on the basis of which meteorological deviations can be discussed.
