A detailed analysis relative to the sun of the high-velocity G giant HD 175305 reveals that its temperature and surface gravity place it on the red horizontal branch of the color-magnitude diagram of population II stars. The general metal deficiency is about a factor of 30 as compared with the sun. The abundances in HD 175305 are compared with those in the three blue horizontal-branch stars HD 86986, 109995, and 161817 and found to be similar.
