A new analysis of the dynamics of the groups of galaxies listed by de Vaucouleurs has been made using new radial velocities and corrections for observational error. We confirm the finding of Turner & Sargent that groups tend to cluster around two peaks on an expansion-rate histogram. If these classes are identified as representing bound and unbound groups, then the similarity in slope of their regression lines on a plot of the log of the ratio M(VT)/M(L) vs log V(D) provides evidence that this correlation lacks cosmological significance.
