Clusters Of Galaxies: Continuum Maps, Radio Sources, Polarization Of Radio Sources, Spectra Of Radio Sources, Optical Identification Of Radio Sources

Scientific paper

Radio continuum maps obtained with the Effelsberg 100-m telescope are presented for twelve rich clusters of galaxies. For some of these sources linear polarization information is given as well. Radio spectra of the sources were obtained using published flux values while optical identifications are suggested from overlays of radio maps onto the red prints of the Palomar Sky Survey. No radio haloes on the order of the cluster size have been detected in the presented sample. Observations of further seven cluster fields already published in paper II have been reanalyzed in linear polarization.
