Details of the Large (LMC) and Small (SMC) Magellanic Clouds have been refined since 1981 through scans on the Molonglo Observatory Synthesis Telescope (MOST). The instrument works in a rotational mode at an 843 MHz operating frequency and a basic field size, defined by a comb of fan beams, of 23 x 23 cosec(delta) arcmin. The campaigns have revealed SNR, emission nebulae and unresolved background quasars/radio galaxies in the SMC. Scans have found 27 SNR in the LMC, all with radii below 40 pc. A distance scale has been devised from the SNRs observed and has been applied to galactic calibrators as a replacement for the luminosity scale. The scale will be applied to quantify a distance to the Clouds and to the galactic center.
