The task of searching for near-Earth asteroids and comets is receiving more and more attention. In view of the radiation tendency of cool and dark celestial bodies and detection limits of telescopes, the authors point out the potential advantage of the radio astronomical method for the task. On the basis of the predicted technical index of the 65-m multi waveband radio telescope they discuss the feasibility of using the beam switching method to detect the radio emission from near-Earth asteroids which can be very weak down to about 1 mJy. Also they introduce the basic steps of determining the direction, distance, velocity and size of the asteroids. Finally, the authors discuss the probability of the method as mentioned above to be used for other astronomical objects.
