We present our large search program of planets orbiting M dwarfs. This primary mass range is not yet explored very well. Because of their faintness in the visible and activity level, M dwarfs are difficult targets for radial velocity surveys. We present radial velocity precisions obtained for our ELODIE and FEROS surveys, suitable for giant planet detection, and that allowed the discovery of Gl876b in the only M-dwarf planetary system. We also discuss new oportunities to increase the achieved radial velocity precisions to allow the detection of very low mass planets orbiting M dwarfs.
