A simple set of equations describing the tail configuration of Comet Giacobini-Zinner is derived, based on the assumption of quasi-one-dimensionality. The MHD equations are expanded by including a parameter for the ratio of the length scale in the direction perpendicular to the neutral sheet over the length scale in the direction parallel to the tail. It is suggested that these equations make it possible to obtain information on tail structure that agree with ICE observations.
