The photoelectric astrolabe type I (PHA I) at CSAO is being reformed for faint star observation. Besides the chain method several other methods could be used in the data reduction for star position corrections, and one of them is proposed. The PHA I will be equipped with a combined prism with two different angles which correspond to two almucantars, so that the authors could use it to determine absolute declinations of stars and to make a joint program with GMC at CSAO for star position determination and reference system.
