The many radio occultation profiles of Saturn's rings obtained during the Cassini mission allow one to analyze accurately any nonlinear (or linear) density wave from multiple optical depth profiles. There are several motivations to analyze density waves. The first one is to verify the theoretical model and its assumptions for nonlinear density waves. This is achieved by determining a single set of wave parameters that describe the wave at various longitudes with respect to the longitudes of the satellite at the observation times, and comparing the reconstructed profiles with the observed ones. Other objectives are to (i) determine the nonlinear torque and (ii) study the damping of waves as a function of the background optical depth or the ring region. This presentation will deal with the reconstruction procedure. This procedure was very difficult to establish due to several obstacles. Examples of such obstacles are (i) the fact that the method of reconstruction is extremely sensitive to errors in the phase along the wave; (ii) the fact that the absolute radii for each profile are known to only +/- 2 km accuracy, which required determining a single radius correction for each profile; and (iii) the complex relationship between the radius and semi-major axis, which must be taken into account at several steps of the process. In spite of such difficulties we have been able to establish a robust procedure of reconstruction that will be presented.
