Relationships are obtained which make it possible to find the upper
bound to the 'nonoptimality' of the least squares method for certain
problems of guaranteed estimation (including minimax estimation applied
to spacecraft orbit determination). Attention is given to cases where
unmodeled perturbations are absent.
