Attention is given to the possible radiative association, charge-transfer, ion-molecule and photoionization processes that may lead to a significant concentration of the CS(plus) ion in interstellar clouds. With the use of accurate molecular constants, line positions are obtained of the 1-0, 2-1, and 2-0 rotation-vibration transitions in the X 2 Sigma plus state of the CS(plus) ion; in addition, assuming linear variation of CNDO dipole moment with internuclear distance, transition probabilities and oscillator strengths for these transitions are estimated. Finally, the key frequencies for the CS(plus) ions which are of astronomical significance are listed.
