The three standard deviations error box of the peculiar Gamma-ray Burst KONUS 790731 includes the position of the star Omega Geminorum which lost its variability in the general time frame of the burst. Classical relativity (no second postulate of special relativity) offers a theoretical framework from which to interpret stellar variability in terms other than radial pulsations and explosions. Classical relativity allows a form of time-of-arrival (TOA) modulation which produces information time-wise compression that is consistent with observed light curves. The time signature of KONUS 790731 (nine spikes in a 65 second period) is consistent with what might be expected by a catastrophic encounter of the members of a three-body stellar system undergoing a catastrophic ``change of state." Prior to the event two of the members of the triplet would be in a close-binary configuration, which would have been producing the light curve of a Cepheid variable. An inopportune perihelion passage of the third member of the triplet would have led to the event. A review of historical data on Omega Geminorum is being conducted to better pinpoint the time of its transition from Cepheid variable to non-variable. Computer code to simulate the transitional event and its appearance to remote observers will provide a graphical record to compare with the actual record of KONUS 790731.
