It is shown that Type III-like bursts can be generated by streams of energetic solar electrons in the regions where the cyclotron branch of plasma waves is strongly excited. This hypothesis explains such properties of Type III-like bursts as shorter duration at a fixed frequency and faster frequency drift compared with analogous parameters of Type III bursts and some others.
