It is demonstrated analytically that the growth of interstellar grains caused by radiation-pressure coagulation is probably of the same order as that due to the condensation of gas atoms on grain surfaces. The ratio of grain growth by condensation to that caused by coagulation is calculated, and the result indicates that grain growth is probably of the same order for both mechanisms. This result is shown to lead to the possibility of forming a 'plum-pudding' grain; i.e., a multicored grain of silicates and similar material embedded in an ice matrix. Some interesting properties of such a grain are discussed, particularly the exhibition of structure at two characteristic lengths (that of the nuclei and that of the whole assembly, including the ice).
