A system with an electron multiplier, two-stage microchannel plate, and a vidicon TV camera was developed for two dimensional photon counting imaging and applied to astronomical observations. Each sequence of images for M51 galaxy and M104 galaxy with different integration time are stored on a video tape. These images show how photons from celestial objects reach the detector.
